Feng Shui (pronounced ‘foong shway' ) literally means wind water.

"Feng" is the chinese word for ‘wind' and "Shui" means ‘water'.

More than 5,000 years ago Ancient Chinese philosophers observed that chi (energy) is affected by the flow of wind and water.

This chi energy is the basis for all life, bringing prosperity, vitality and abundance.

The water collects and magnifies this chi energy whilst the wind disperses chi. Thus by harnessing these two elements humans were able to obtain prosperity.

Everything in the Universe comprises of energy, and all energy is in a constant state of flux. One of the basic fundamental principles is that of attaining equilibrium.

In recent times the power of Feng Shui has often been understated and simply referred to as "the Art of Placement" - whereby most people believe that it simply involves moving furniture or hanging trickets.

However Feng Shui is so much more than this! Feng Shui involves balancing and harmonizing unseen energy forces in many different planes or dimensions.

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of living in harmony with your environment. It focuses on the energy of the human body and its influences from the environment.

Our living environment is an outer reflection of ourselves - the two are inextricably linked. Our houses and buildings impact on our lives. When we start changing our outer environment we shift internal energies. When we start growing, healing and improving our inner selves we choose living spaces that are more conducive to our "new selves".

Feng shui is the science of bringing together humankind and the environment in which we strive to find harmony and equilibrium.

The aim of Feng Shui is to correct (or minimize) the impact of negative energy and to enhance positive energy to create a balanced environment and hence improve many aspects of your life, whether it be health, prosperity, career, relationships or our knowledge.

Our homes and work places should be places where we feel comfortable, happy and supported.
